DAY 1 :
Arrival in Tbilisi international airport, our company representative will meet you at the airport, transfer and accommodation to the hotel.
DAY 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta
Breakfast at the hotel. We will see Tbilisi – the most popular destinations – Sameba Cathedral, Metekhi, Sioni Church where the Saint Nino’s Cross is kept, Narikala fortress, The Botanic Garden of Tbilisi with its beautiful selections of plants. Old Tbilisi, Shardeni Street and Sulphur bathes. After lunch in old Tbilisi we will go to Mtskheta (second Jerusalem) – The Kingdom of Iberia with its historic places, now it is in the cultural heritage list of UNESCO. We will visit world heritage sites – Jvari monastery (VI c.), from which you’ll observe the breathtaking view, where two rivers meet eachother and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI c.) – The existing church of Svetitskhoveli was built at the end of 11th century but its history begins much earlier in the 4th century, The great holiness – robe of Jesus is buried here. You will listen legends and sacral stories related to this place. Dinner in Mtskheta at the most popular “Salobie”. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 3: Tbilisi – Ananuri Fortress – Kazbegi
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ananuri Fortress situated on the Georgian Military Highway. We’ll observe the azure blue Zhinvali reservoir. Our journey continues to Kazbegim where we will have lunch and try local food. Kazbegi – former name of Stepantsminda – is a small town in the north-eastern Georgia. Stepantsminda was named after a Georgian Orthodox monk Stephan, who constructed a hermitage at this location on what later became the Georgian Military Highway. We will go up on the top of a mountain at a height of 2170 meters under Mount Kazbegi to see Gergeti Trinity Church (14th century) and amazing, magnificent views of Caucasus. This is the most popular destination in Georgia. The Holy Trinity Church has been the subject of a million tourist photos, book covers and post cards. Return to Tbilisi.
DAY 4: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Sighnagi
After breakfast at the hotel we are headed to Kakheti region. Our first destination here is David Gareja (6th century) – rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex on the half-desert slopes of Mount Gareja. The complex includes hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories and living quarters hollowed out of the rock face. Next stop is The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. We will have lunch in Sighnagi, it is one of Georgia’s smallest towns. Sighnagi serves as a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque landscapes, pastel houses and narrow, cobblestone streets. Located on a steep hill, Sighnagi overlooks the vast Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus Mountains visible at a distance. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 5: Free time in Tbilisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Explore the city, do some shopping and purchase souvenirs for your family and friends. Transfer to Tbilisi airport for departure.
