Arrival in Tbilisi international airport, our company representative will meet you at the airport, transfer and accommodation to the hotel.

DAY 1: Tbilisi

Visit Tbilisi – the most popular destinations – Sameba Cathedral, Metekhi, Sioni Church where the Saint Nino’s Cross is kept, Narikala fortress, The Botanic Garden of Tbilisi with its beautiful selections of plants. Old Tbilisi, Shardeni Street and Sulphur bathes. Dinner in old Tbilisi with traditional cuisine, wine and folklore. Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

DAY 2: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Gori – Uplistsikhe cave town

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Mtskheta (second Jerusalem) – The Kingdom of Iberia with its historic places, now it is in the cultural heritage list of UNESCO. We will visit world heritage sites – Jvari monastery (VI c.), from which you’ll observe the breathtaking view, where two rivers meet eachother and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI c.) –  The existing church of Svetitskhoveli was built at the end of 11th century but its history begins much earlier in the 4th century, The great holiness – robe of Jesus is buried here. You will listen legends and sacral stories related to this place. Lunch in Mtskheta. We continue our route to Uplistsikhe – the ancient cave town in Georgia Its history begins in the I-II millennium B.C. On the way is Joseph Stalin Museum in Gori, upon your request we could stop here to see his house and some interesting exhibits from the former USSR era. Return to Tbilisi.

 

DAY 3: Tbilisi – Ananuri Fortress – Kazbegi

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ananuri Fortress situated on the Georgian Military Highway. We’ll observe the azure blue Zhinvali reservoir. Our journey continues to Kazbegim where we will have lunch and try local food. Kazbegi – former name of Stepantsminda – is a small town in the north-eastern Georgia. Stepantsminda was named after a Georgian Orthodox monk Stephan, who constructed a hermitage at this location on what later became the Georgian Military Highway. We will go up on the top of a mountain at a height of 2170 meters under Mount Kazbegi to see Gergeti Trinity Church (14th century) and amazing, magnificent views of Caucasus. This is the most popular destination in Georgia. The Holy Trinity Church has been the subject of a million tourist photos, book covers and post cards. Return to Tbilisi.

 

DAY 4: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Sighnagi

After breakfast at the hotel we are headed to Kakheti region. Our first destination here is David Gareja (6th century) – rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery complex on the half-desert slopes of Mount Gareja. The complex includes hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories and living quarters hollowed out of the rock face. Next stop is The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. We will have lunch in Sighnagi, it is one of Georgia’s smallest towns. Sighnagi serves as a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque landscapes, pastel houses and narrow, cobblestone streets. Located on a steep hill, Sighnagi overlooks the vast Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus Mountains visible at a distance. Overnight in Sighnagi.

 

DAY 5: Sighnagi – Gremi – Nekresi – Tsinandali

After breakfast in Sighnagi we continue our way to visit wonderful places: Tsinandali Palace, Nekresi, Gremi and Kvareli. You will see the palace with beautiful garden, hear the love stories of very famous poets, visit old monasteries and churches on the way, our final stop for today will be winery in Kvareli, you could taste 4 kind of wines (upon request and additional fee). Dinner in Kakheti. Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

DAY 6 : Tbilisi – Vardzia – Borjomi

Breakfast at the hotel. We are going to Vardzia. A magic is waiting for us – famous cave town Vardzia monastery complex of the XII-XIII cc. in the south of Georgia. Vardzia with its 365 rock-hewn cells is an outstanding monument of the medieval Georgian architecture. Next stop is Borjomi for lunch, at the national park of Borjomi you could taste warm mineral water coming from ground spring.  Park is very beautiful to have a sit and breathe the fresh ear coming from the deep forest surrounding the area. We continue our way to see Romanov Palace (1892-95) in Likani, it was built as a summer mansion of Grand Duke Nicholas Mikhailovich of Russia. Diner and overnight in Borjomi.

 

DAY 7: Borjomi – Kutaisi

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we are headed to Kutaisi. Kutaisi was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Colchis. Archaeological evidence indicates that the city functioned as the capital of the kingdom of Colchis in the sixth to fifth centuries BC. We will see Bagrati Cathedral built in the early years of the 11th century and Gelati – medieval monastic complex, a masterpiece of the Georgian Golden Age. Gelati was founded in 1106 by King David IV of Georgia. Bagrati Cathedral, together with the Gelati Monastery, was included in UNESCO‘s World Heritage Site list. Near this place is one of the famous churches in Georgia Motsameta – It is named after two saints, brothers David and Constantine. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi.

 

DAY 8: Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Okatse Canyon

Breakfast at the hotel, our first stop is Prometheus Cave, this is one of Georgia’s natural wonders providing visitors with breathtaking examples of stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, petrified waterfalls, cave pearls, underground rivers, and lakes. You can enjoy the boat ride along the underground river. After lunch we will go to see another wonderful place – Okatse Canyon – one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. This is a great place to relax and hike in nature. Views from bridge at 50 meters above canyon and landscapes are really impressive here. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi.

 

DAY 9: Kutaisi – Martvili Canyon – Zugdidi

After breakfast at the hotel the fairy-tale, magic place Martvili Canyon is waiting for us. The climate and the nature are amazing here. Crystal, transparent water constantly cold and never gets warm, even in the hottest summer days. From rocks beautiful lianas hang down, and walls are covered with mosses. We could take a boat and go up on the river. We will go farther to Salhkino – Dadiani summer residence and rest place, it offers wonderful atmosphere with its beautiful alley. Lunch with local cuisine.

 

After Lunch we are going to Zugdidi, where we will see The Dadiani Palace.The Dadiani Palace History and Architecture Museum houses some exhibits of natural cultural heritage of Georgia: Mother of God holy vesture, manuscripts from 13th – 14th centuries, miniatures, memorial relics of Dadiani dynasty, and objects connected to emperor of France Napoleon Bonaparte – brought to the palace by the husband of David Dadiani’s daughter, prince Achille Murat and much more. Dinner and overnight in Zugdidi.

DAY 10: Zugdidi – Mestia

After breakfast we will go up to visit Svaneti. Mestia is our first destination.  It is at an elevation of 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in the Caucasus Mountains. We will visit medieval monuments, such as churches and forts, included in a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and museum of Mikhael Khergiani (1932–1969) a famous mountain climber. Dinner and overnight in Mestia.

 

DAY 11: Ushguli

After great breakfast with local food in Mestia we are headed to Ushguli. This is a community of four villages located at the head of the Enguri gorge in Svaneti, Recognized as the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe.  Ushguli has been “saved” by its particularly inaccessible location, which helped preserve the villages’ timeless feel. Return to Mestia, dinner and overnight here.

 

DAY 12: Mestia – Batumi

After breakfast we will go to Batumi, this beautiful town is on the coast of Black Sea. You will see museum of fine arts and visit the Botanic Garden. Free time, dinner and overnight in Batumi.

 

DAY 13:

Free time in Batumi, overnight in Batumi.

 

DAY 14: Tbilisi

After breakfast we will return in Tbilisi, where you will have free time to walk around and visit your favorite places, transfer to the airport for departure.
