DAY 1: Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi international airport, our company representative will meet you at the airport, transfer and accommodation to the hotel.
DAY 2: Tbilisi – Tusheti – Telavi
After breakfast we are going to Tusheti. We will see Omalo, Dartlo and Keseli tower –castles. Lunch will be in Omalo with local food and drinks. After Tusheti we are going down to Telavi. We will visit Alaverdi monastery complex (VI c.). Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 3: Tbilisi – Ananuri Fortress – Kazbegi
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ananuri Fortress situated on the Georgian Military Highway. We’ll observe the azure blue Zhinvali reservoir. Our journey continues to Kazbegi where we will have lunch and try local food. Kazbegi – former name of Stepantsminda – is a small town in the north-eastern Georgia. Stepantsminda was named after a Georgian Orthodox monk Stephan, who constructed a hermitage at this location on what later became the Georgian Military Highway. We will go up on the top of a mountain at a height of 2170 meters under Mount Kazbegi to see Gergeti Trinity Church (14th century) and amazing, magnificent views of Caucasus. This is the most popular destination in Georgia. The Holy Trinity Church has been the subject of a million tourist photos, book covers and post cards. Return to Tbilisi.
DAY 4: Tbilisi – Racha
Breakfast at the hotel in Tbilisi. We are going to Racha. Racha is a highland area in western Georgia, located in the upper Rioni river valley and hemmed in by the Greater Caucasus Mountains. We will visit the Georgian Orthodox church – Nikortsminda built in 1010-1014. Frescoes inside are dated from the 17th century. We will stop to Shaori Lake, see the cave and some other churches on our way, amazing views are attracting all visitors. Dinner with local cuisine and drinks in Ambrolauri, overnight at the family owned guest house.
DAY 5: Racha – Mestia
After breakfast we will go up to visit Svaneti. Mestia is our first destination. It is at an elevation of 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in the Caucasus Mountains. We will visit medieval monuments, such as churches and forts, included in a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and museum of Mikhael Khergiani (1932-1969 a famous mountain climber. Dinner and overnight in Mestia.
DAY 6: Mestia -Ushguli
After great breakfast with local food in Mestia we are headed to Ushguli. This is a community of four villages located at the head of the Enguri gorge in Svaneti, Recognized as the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Ushguli has been “saved” by its particularly inaccessible location, which helped preserve the villages’ timeless feel. Return to Mestia, dinner and overnight here.
DAY 7: Svaneti – Tbilisi
After breakfast we will return in Tbilisi, where you will have free time to walk around and visit your favorite places.
DAY 8:
After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.
